ABOUT US

IBGB Learning Society is a registered not for profit organization which was established in 2009 by a group of academicians with an idea to stimulate active interest in geographical and environmental studies among young people.

‘Contemporary Geography’ is much more than memorizing names and places. Geography has higher aims than this and it constitutes physical geography where you learn about geo-physical processes (such as plate tectonics, soil formation and climate) and human geography deals with humans and their relationships with communities, cultures, economies, and interactions with the environment by studying their relations with and across locations. Geography also engages with contemporary problems and issues using an array of skills and a unique spatial perspective.

So, for the better understanding of Geography, the organization conducts following four different activities in a year :-

1. Geo Genius National Geography Olympiad

2. All India National Project Competition

3. Environment Awareness Programmes

4. Participation in the International Geography Olympiad organized by International Geographical Union (IGU).

Testimonials

Now Geography has become an applied science dealing with all the problems related with man’s activity. Geography also involves the study of varied present day topics as conservation, pollution, biodiversity, climatic changes, urban and demographic problems as well as regional development and planning etc. In other words its study is closely linked with many relevant issues of modern life. The IBGB Learning Society’s Geography Olympiad is a commendable effort in this direction.
